Other producer - Steeldomus quality
After about eight years' use, this chromium-plated steel tube shows clear rust stains.
This type of imperfection is probably the result of a badly executed (or possibly even skipped) copper bath in combination with an insufficient nickel plating
Before being dipped in copper-, nickel- and chromium-plating baths, the Steeldomus steel elements are first carefully polished so as to ensure a 35-micron coating.
This same process was used for the 8-year-old steel tube in the photograph shown here. Its surface is still spotless and it will remain so for another 40 years.
